FSSAI Advisory regarding the requirement of AGMARK Certification for imported food products.

On 18 August 2022, FSSAI published a notice stating the requirement of AGMARK Certification before imported food products such as blended edible vegetable oils (BEVO) consignments in abeyance until further order.

Various representations were received from stakeholders seeking clarification regarding the AGMARK certification requirement for Imported food products.

In response to this, the matter was taken to the DMI, and it has been informed that foreign country/overseas certification under the provisions of the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act 1937 is not carried out by DMI.

Hence, it has been decided that the AGMARK certification requirement for imported food consignments in abeyance until further notice.
