The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has issued a notification for the application of GST at prescribed rates on all services provided by them basis the notification released The Central Government, has made amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate) which is published in the Gazette of India.
On 20th July 2022, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India issued a notification for the application of GST at prescribed rates on all services provided by them. The rates would be revised for services such as import clearance fee, product approval fee, food safety mitra fee, Central license, etc. The Competent Authority has approved this decision.
This is based on the notification dated 13th July 2022 released by Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), whereby, the Central Government in the exercise of the powers conferred by the Central Goods and Services Act, 2017, has made certain amendments. This notification comes into effect on 18th July 2022.
