The Central Government has published draft rules to amend the Drugs Rules, 1945 under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, after consultation with the Drugs Technical Advisory Board. Objections and suggestions may be submitted within 30 days to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The amendment proposes that antimicrobial drugs and their preparations must carry a conspicuous blue vertical strip on the left side of the label, without disturbing other printed conditions, for clear identification.
