The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India recently made amendments to the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018. It will be called the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) First Amendment Regulations, 2022 and come into effect on 1st March 2023. As per the amendment, substitution has been made in Schedule II A, which includes a list of claims for edible vegetable oils.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India recently made amendments to the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018. FSSAI made these amendments in exercise to the powers given by section 92, sub-section (2), clause (k) and (v) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006).
The regulations will be called the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) First Amendment Regulations, 2022 and come into effect on 1st March 2023. As per the amendment, substitution has been made in Schedule - II A. This substitution includes a list of claims for edible vegetable oils and can be used on advertisements or labels. The Food Business Operators can use the same or similar terms mentioned in the claim; however, the meaning or intent of the claim must remain the same.
