FSSAI had previously issued Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022. As per these regulations, guidelines for application submission for endorsement of the Vegan logo and formats were put forth for approval from the Authority. As a result, and after approval in Form B, the Food Business Operators are allowed to use the Vegan Logo.
The Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022 sub-regulation 4(2) states that every vegan food package must carry the logo after approval. Therefore, on 14 Sep 2022, FSSAI published a notification comprising the detailed graphic specification of the Vegan logo prescribed in Annexure-1. Annexure-1 shows the detailed measurement (in millimetres), size, shape, spacing and colour (green) of the Vegan logo that needs to go on every vegan package.
