Instant Modification of License

An official notification was issued by FSSAI on 29 December 2022, notifying guidelines for instant modification of license to add standardised food products under the FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) regulation, 2011.

The notification states the following to the manufacturers for ease of doing business and streamlines the license modification process:

1. Instant modification of license in case of addition of standardised food products under vegetable oil, processing unit KoB and general manufacturing KoB except high-risk food categories 01, 08, 09, 13, 99.
2. The provision is for existing licensed manufacturers only.
3. The modification fee is Rs 1000/- plus any differential fees.
4. The same was implemented in the FoSCoS portal on 23 December 2022.
