Extension date for implementation of IS 18112 ‘Digital Television Receiver for satellite Broadcast Transmission Specification’

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has announced an extension of the enforcement date for IS 18112: “Digital Television Receiver for Satellite Broadcast Transmission Specification” to 26 January 2027. Accordingly, the guidelines outlined in Circular Ref. Reg/IS 18112/Guidelines/04 dated 14 October 2025 should now be read with the updated implementation date of 26 January 2027. All other conditions, requirements, and instructions specified in the circular remain unchanged and continue to apply.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has extended the implementation date for IS 18112 (Digital Television Receiver for Satellite Broadcast Transmission Specification) to 26 January 2027. This standard requires certain digital television receivers for satellite broadcasting to be certified by BIS under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS). The implementation guidelines issued by BIS through Circular Ref. Reg/IS 18112/Guidelines/04 dated 14 October 2025 will continue to apply, but with the revised implementation date of 26 January 2027. Apart from this date change, all other requirements and provisions of the circular remain unchanged.

Extension in date of implementation of IS 16102 (Part 1):2026

BIS has announced an extension of the implementation date for IS 16102 (Part 1): 2026 “Self-Ballasted LED Lamps for General Lighting Services,” to 02 February 2027. Accordingly, the implementation guidelines issued on 24 February 2026 shall now be read with the revised compliance date of 02 February 2027. All other provisions, conditions, and requirements specified in the original guidelines remain unchanged and continue to apply.

Extension in date of implementation of Revised Standards for LED Luminaires

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has announced an extension of the implementation date for the revised standards applicable to LED luminaires. According to the updated notification, read in conjunction with the implementation guidelines issued under Circular Ref. Reg./IS 10322 Series/Guidelines/01 dated 20 March 2026, the deadline for compliance with the prescribed Indian Standards has been extended to 02 February 2027. All other provisions, conditions, and requirements specified in the aforesaid circular remain unchanged and shall continue to apply.
