Extension in date of implementation of Revised Standards for LED Luminaires

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has extended the implementation date for the revised Indian Standards applicable to various LED luminaires. BIS announced that the concurrent running period of the existing and revised standards has been extended until 02 February 2027. The extension covers several product categories, including fixed general-purpose LED luminaires, fancy lights, recessed LED luminaires, road and street lighting luminaires, LED flood lights, hand lamps, lighting chains, and emergency lighting luminaires. Manufacturers may continue using the current standards during this extended period while transitioning to the revised versions. Apart from the revised implementation date, all other terms, conditions, and requirements of the guidelines through Circular Ref. Reg./IS 10322 Series/Guidelines/01 dated 20 March 2026 remain unchanged.
