2026.01.28 G.S.R. 66(E)_Draft Notification for consideration of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) as authorized Airport for Drug Import, under the provision of Rule 43A of Drugs Rules 1945
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued draft rules to amend the Drugs Rules, 1945, proposing inclusion of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), Raigad, Maharashtra as an authorized port under Rule 43A. Stakeholders may submit objections or suggestions within 30 days of publication. The amendment aims to facilitate drug import/export operations through the newly designated international airport.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Health and Family Welfare, issued Notification G.S.R. 66(E), publishing draft rules to amend the Drugs Rules, 1945 under Sections 12(1) and 33(1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, after consultation with the Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB).

- The proposed amendment seeks to revise Rule 43A by substituting the existing list of ports (Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram) with an expanded list that additionally includes Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), Raigad, Maharashtra.
