Official notification was issued by FSSAI on 7th March 2023 requesting to carry out special enforcement drive to check the quality and safety of the Nutraceuticals and Health Supplements products.
The notification requested all Regional Directors of FSSAI, all Central Licensing Authorities of FSSAI, and the Commissioner of Food Safety of all states and union territories to ensure a tight vigil on the manufacturing and sales of the nutraceuticals and health supplement products under their respective area. They are asked to carry out a special enforcement drive to check compliance of the mentioned products with provisions of Food Safety and Standards (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, and Prebiotic and Probiotic Food) Regulations,2022. If any incidence of violation of the same is found by the FBOs, then take strict action against them and kindly share the action taken report by 31 March 2023 at enforcementI@fssai.gov.in
