The Ministry of Consumer Affairs releases amendment in LM Packaged Commodities Rules, which shall come in force on the date of publication in gazette. In rule 6, sub-rule (10) the following shall be inserted: ‘Provided that every e-commerce entity selling imported products shall provide a searchable and sortable filter for the country of origin, with their product listings.’
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs releases a draft named Legal Metrology Packaged Commodities Second Amendments Rules, 2025.
These rules shall come in force on the date of publication in official gazette.
In Legal Metrology Packaged Commodity Rules, 2011, In rule 6, Sub-rule (10) the following provision shall be inserted as:
" Provided that every e-commerce entity selling imported products shall provide a searchable and sortable filter for the country of origin, with their product listings."
