LM packaged commodities second amendment rules 2025
The Central Government has notified the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Second Amendment Rules, 2025, effective 1 February 2026. The amendment inserts a proviso under Rule 26(a) of the 2011 Rules, stating that the provisions of this clause shall not apply to pan masala. This regulatory change exempts pan masala from specific packaging-related requirements previously applicable under Rule 26(a).
