The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, issued an order fixing retail prices for nine drug formulations under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013.
The notified medicines include fixed-dose combinations such as:
- Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, and Thiocolchicoside tablets
- Ibuprofen with Paracetamol suspension
- Dapagliflozin, Glimepiride, Metformin, Sitagliptin, and Empagliflozin.
Prices have been set per unit, ranging from ₹0.55/ml for Ibuprofen-Paracetamol suspension to ₹34.50/tablet for Sitagliptin-Empagliflozin-Metformin extended-release tablets. The prices are exclusive of GST, which can be added only if payable.
Manufacturers must issue updated price lists, submit details through IPDMS, and ensure compliance with statutory approvals and licensing. Retailers are mandated to display these lists prominently.
Any violation or overcharging will attract penalties under the DPCO, 2013, and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. This notification supersedes previous price orders for the listed formulations.
