Traceability Application under Repurpose Used Cooking Oil (RUCO) initiative

Official notification was issued on 24th February 2023 by FSSAI regarding the implementation of traceability application under Repurpose Used Cooking Oil (RUCO) initiative will be made live from 15th March 2023.

The notification notifies the following:

1. FSSAI has been enrolling NFP (Non-Food Production) units and recognising the used cooking oil (UCO) aggregators under repurposed used cooking oil (RUCO).
2. FSSAI has developed a RUCO traceability application to track the entire RUCO ecosystem, generate UCO disposal requests, enrol NFP units, recognise UCO aggregators, monitor transactions, and generate data and reports on a real time basis.
3. The traceability application is available on the RUCO website and can be assessed by the link (http://eatrightindia.gov.in/ruco/r-app/). It provides login facilities to FBOs, NFP units, and UCO aggregators.
4. The RUCO website also has a user manual and tutorial videos.
5. The traceability application will be made live from 15th March 2023.
