DGFT Extends Minimum Import Price Condition on Sulfadiazine API

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition applicable to imports of Sulfadiazine API under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I. The MIP of ₹1,774 per kg on CIF value has been extended up to 30 November 2026, with all other terms and conditions of the earlier notification remaining unchanged.


The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, has extended the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition imposed on Sulfadiazine API under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy).


Key points include:

  1. The MIP condition for Sulfadiazine API has been extended for a further period.
  2. The applicable Minimum Import Price is ₹1,774 per kg based on Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) value.
  3. The MIP applies to imports of Sulfadiazine API covered under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I.
  4. The extended MIP condition will remain applicable up to 30 November 2026.
  5. The extension is made under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 and the Foreign Trade Policy 2023.
  6. All other terms and conditions of the earlier notification remain unchanged.
  7. Importers of Sulfadiazine API should ensure that import transactions comply with the prescribed MIP requirement during the extended period.
