Companies that have not yet submitted their renewal application are requested to submit a signed PDF application to DSIR by 15 September 2026. Companies that have already submitted their applications need not resubmit them.
The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, has issued a reminder regarding the renewal of recognition of in-house R&D units beyond 31 March 2026. The recognition/renewal granted to the concerned in-house R&D units was valid up to 31 March 2026, and companies were required to apply for renewal as per DSIR's prescribed procedure.
Key points include:
- Companies whose renewal applications were already submitted through the designated email IDs do not need to resubmit their applications; such applications have either been processed or are under process.
- Companies that have not yet submitted their renewal application are requested to submit one set of signed PDF application documents, not exceeding 20 MB, immediately and latest by 15 September 2026.
- The dedicated email ID for receipt of applications is rdi-renewal@gov.in. Queries and status-related communication are to be handled separately by the concerned DSIR officials.
- Companies that do not wish to renew recognition of their in-house R&D centres beyond 31 March 2026 should communicate this to DSIR by 15 September 2026.
