The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has notified stakeholders that a valid Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) is mandatory for registration on the ICEGATE (SWIFT 2.0) Portal. Existing CBN-registered companies must update their IEC in their CBN Online Portal profile. This requirement supports the migration of CBN services, including profile management and import/export authorizations, to the ICEGATE SWIFT 2.0 platform.
The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has issued Public Notice No. 08/2026 regarding mandatory ICEGATE registration and possession of a valid Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) for accessing CBN services through the ICEGATE SWIFT 2.0 Portal.
The CBN Online Portal is being integrated with ICEGATE, and modules including Profile, Export and Import are expected to migrate to the SWIFT 2.0 platform. A valid IEC is essential for registration, and without it, existing or new users may be unable to submit applications relating to profile registration or updates, import/export authorizations for narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, and NOCs for controlled substances. Existing CBN-registered entities should update their IEC in their CBN profile at the earliest. Entities without a valid IEC should obtain one from DGFT or the concerned authority before registering for ICEGATE services.
