NPPA has fixed retail prices of 42 formulations under Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 based on the decision of 136th Authority meeting dated 28.8.2025

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) issued an order fixing the retail prices for 42 medicines, including antibiotics, cardiovascular drugs, antidiabetics, and vitamins. The prices are exclusive of GST and apply to the specified manufacturers and marketing companies. Compliance with DPCO, 2013 provisions is mandatory, and overcharging is subject to penalties under the Essential Commodities Act.


The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, issued an order under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, specifying the retail prices of 42 medicines.

Key points include:

  1. The order covers oral suspensions, tablets, capsules, and injections across multiple therapeutic classes, including antibiotics (Amoxycillin, Cefixime, Meropenem), antidiabetics (Dapagliflozin, Empagliflozin, Sitagliptin, Metformin), cardiovascular drugs (Ramipril, Telmisartan, Bisoprolol, Amlodipine), vitamins, and combination therapies.
  2. The retail prices apply only to the listed manufacturers and marketing companies, exclusive of GST.
  3. Manufacturers must comply with DPCO provisions, display prices at retail outlets, and submit Form-V price lists to NPPA, with overcharging subject to interest and penalties under DPCO, 2013, and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
