The Ministry of Mines has issued the Tin Ingot (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025, mandating that all tin ingots conform to Indian Standard IS 26:2024. As per the order tin ingots must bear the Standard Mark from the Bureau of Indian Standards and be certified under Scheme-I of BIS Conformity Assessment Regulations, 2018. This order comes into force from 17 April 2026.
