Withdrawal of Tin Ingot (Quality Control) Order, 2025

The Central Government, under powers of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, and after consulting BIS, has withdrawn the Tin Ingot (Quality Control) Order, 2025. Consequently, the earlier notification issued by the Ministry of Mines on April 17, 2025, published in the Gazette of India, stands rescinded.

The Central Government, exercising its authority under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, and after due consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), has officially withdrawn the Tin Ingot (Quality Control) Order, 2025.

This decision effectively nullifies the mandatory quality standards previously imposed on tin ingots under the said order. As a result, the earlier notification issued by the Ministry of Mines on April 17, 2025, and published in the Gazette of India, stands rescinded.

The withdrawal signifies a regulatory shift, removing compulsory BIS certification for tin ingots, thereby impacting manufacturers, importers, and traders.

This move aims to streamline compliance requirements and reflects the government’s evolving approach toward industry regulation and trade facilitation.
